If you've been wanting to try the baked oats, but the banana base isn't your thing, look no further. This recipe uses caramelized apples as the base and with the cinnamon in the mixture, you get the fall/winter vibes with a hint of an apple pie taste. Give this warm recipe a try and Bon Appetit.
Ingredients:
- 1 red apple
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- a pinch of salt
for the streusel:
- oats
- your favorite nuts
- maple syrup
Instructions:
-Peel an apple and dice in to small cubes.
-Transfer the apple cubes to a pan and add the maple syrup.
-Cook the apple cubes on slow-medium heat.
-In a blender, add the oats, an egg and a pinch of salt.
-Next, add the baking powder, cinnamon and the caramelised apple cubes.
-Blend then transfer the blended oats to a ramekin.
-Top the mixture with the streusel. (which consists of oats, nuts and maple syrup)
-Finally, bake for 15-20 minutes at 180C.
