Hollandaise Sauce

Hollandaise Sauce is one of my favorite sauces, especially for an Egg Benedict. Of course it is a sauce, so it has many uses more than just Egg Benedict, for instance, it goes great with vegetables. 
I prefer mine on a toast with a spread, maybe a mashed avocado as a base and a poached egg topped with the sauce, deliciousness. Bon Appetit!!

Hollandaise Sauce
Ingredients:
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tbsp water 
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsps butter 
  • a pinch of salt
  • cayenne pepper 

Instructions:

-In a pot, add egg yolk, water and lemon juice.

-Whisk the ingredients with no heat on.

-Next, add the butter in and then start whisking again with heat on.

-Once the sauce gets creamy take off the heat to add salt and cayenne.

-A final stir before serving the hollandaise sauce.

-Serve on a poached egg and enjoy!!!
