Saffron Sourdough with Rose Petals and Honeycomb
Who doesn't love a sourdough loaf? why not make it even more fun?
The Saffron Sourdough with Rose Petals and Honeycomb is the definition of fun. Nothing taste better than a slice of the bread with loads of butter and a honey drizzle with a warm cup of coffee.
I love bread and I love sourdough, but this recipe baking and trying it has a special place in my heart.
I would totally recommend it for you too.
Ingredients:
- 300 grams APF
- 50 grams whole wheat
- 265 gram lukewarm water
- 7 grams salt
- 70 grams sourdough starter
- saffron
- rose petals
- honeycomb
Instructions:
-Prep the saffron water using the lukewarm water.
-In a bowl, add the saffron water and the flour.
-Mix the dough with a spatula- don’t over mix.
-Cover the dough with a wet towel for an hour.
-After the hour is over, stretch and fold every 15 minutes.
-Repeat the process for 3 to 5 times.
-Rest the dough for 6-12 hours.
-Once done resting, flour your counter and then place your dough on your counter to start shaping.
-Add more flour petals, crushed pistachios and the honey comb to the dough.
-Place a cotton cloth over your bowl and place your dough on the cloth up-side down.
-Put the bowl in the fridge for 12-36 hours to slow the rise.
-Heat your oven- cast iron would be a great choice.
-Bake your dough for 20 minutes at 260 C.
-Reduce the temperature to 220 C for the next 20 minutes or till golden brown.
-Wait for the bread to cool down completely.
-Serve and Bon Appetit!!
